Shivonne Garland (Kiniyalocts), Class of 1997, achieved a highly prestigious level while at Edgewood High School not only in athletics but in academics as well. She was a four-year Varsity letter earner in both Softball and Basketball and a three-year Varsity letter earner in Soccer. She was MVP two years run- ning in both Softball and Basketball. She maintained above a .400 batting average all four years of her Varsity play in Softball and was chosen to the All District team her Senior year.
In Basketball, Shivonne still holds numerous records: 3rd highest career point earner, most free throws made in a single game (14), most career assists (285), most 3-point goals (104), most 3-point goals in a single season (47), most 3-point goals in a single game (6) and most career steals (245). Shivonne continued her success with a two-year basketball scholarship to Edison State College. After two years, she transferred to Wright State University and earned a BS in Nursing. She holds the position of Bone Marrow Transplant Immunology Care Manager at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She and her family are Trenton residents. |
