A graduate of the Class of 1979, Scot Elam participated in Basketball and Baseball, earning a Varsity letter in both sports.
Scot was named to the All-District team in Basketball but really excelled in Baseball, being named to All-State, All-Region, and All District teams. During his senior year, Scot led his Baseball team in wins, strikeouts, and win/loss record and held the lowest ERA. He led the Cougars to the 1979 Baseball State Finals where they finished runner-up. Following graduation, he earned a scholarship to play for the University of Michigan. In 1981, he was named as 3rd team All American and All Big Ten. That same year, he was drafted in the 10th round by the Toronto Blue Jays organization and played several years before suffering a career-ending shoulder injury. Scot and his wife make their home in Rising Sun, Indiana. |
