Henderson 'Gordy' Gordon is a 1986 graduate of Edgewood High School where he was a standout wrestler. He was runner up in the MML his freshman and sophomore years and won the league his junior and senior years where he was also named MVP both years.
He was a two-time Edgewood Invitational winner and won the MVP at that tournament his senior year. He was a two-time state qualifier. He finished his wrestling career with a record of 102-17 and holds the EHS record for most wins. After graduation, he entered the Marine Corp and attended aviation school. He served as a Marine drill instructor and close combat instructor at Parris Island in South Carolina. He served in Desert Storm and has now retired from the military after 12 years of service. He currently owns two personal training companies and participates in body building competitions where he won the nationals and earned his IFBB Pro Card in 2006. Gordy is the father of four children, his oldest son graduating from Edgewood. He resides in High Point, North Carolina. |
