Nate Thomas was a 2008 graduate of Edgewood High School participating in both football and basketball, earning his Varsity letter in both sports as a sophomore, junior and senior. He had 12 career interceptions in football which is the school record. He was named 2nd team all state, 1st team all district, 1st team all Journal News, 1st team all league and 1st team Butler County, all as a junior. His junior year, the Cougars won their conference and went to the state playoff regional semi-finals. His senior year, they repeated as league champs and returned to the state playoffs.
In basketball, he was a member of the 2006-2007 league championship team. The team finished the regular season 17-3 which is a school record for most wins in a season. Nate ranks in the top three in game, season and career assists, and 3-point percentage for season and career. He is tied for the school record for most steals in a game. He was first team all league and honorable mention all district his junior and senior year. After graduation Nate attended Brown University where he was a member of the 2008 Ivy League Championship football team. He earned his bachelor's degree from Brown University in 2012, and received his master's degree from Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) in 2013. He continued on at LMU and earned his Dr. of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2017. Nate was also awarded a teaching fellowship from LMU. He currently resides in Long Island, New York where he is completing his medical residency. |
